 A Message from the Chairman
Many of our friends and clients have asked about Hunter Associates -- what we do and what makes us different from other brokerage and investment advisory firms.
Our firm is the product of a three-year planning process. It is motivated by our perception of desirable changes and worthwhile trends in the securities industry, and by our aim to build a firm of sustainable value to our clients.
What makes us different? First, is our team-oriented approach to individual account management. In the typical brokerage firm, clients work with a single broker who alone is responsible for understanding the investor's financial situation. If something happens to the broker, the quality and continuity of service inevitably suffer.
At Hunter Associates, we use a combination of people to work with each client account. In this fashion, we gain a strong understanding of the client's financial goals and bring several perspectives to the development of the portfolio. In addition, this team approach ensures a continually high level of service over a period of time.
Secondly, our unique combination of brokerage and investment advisory services is designed to overcome the historical bias towards transactions in the securities industry. Our effort is to establish a close working relationship with the client to devise his or her investment policy and build his or her portfolio. Our approach is to buy securities for our clients, not sell securities to them.
