Chairman’s Letter
Dear Clients and Friends,
In 1992, seven of us started Hunter Associates with a strong emphasis on identifying and achieving our clients’ financial goals through a combination of brokerage and investment services. We believed then, and still do, that this model is the best way for us to offer superior service to clients of all financial sizes. At that time, our capabilities centered on portfolio management and security selection, and our aim was to provide a relatively low-cost investment advisory relationship for many of our clients.
Although we have stayed true to our original approach, we have made a few landmark changes in order to become the firm we are today. After surveying our clients—and realizing that they were extremely satisfied with our service and performance—we began the long process of ensuring that Hunter Associates would remain strong and viable for many years to come. As a result, over the years, we have since added capable people with complementary knowledge in other areas of financial service to broaden our ability to serve our clients. Even today we continue to develop a management team totally committed to the firm’s mission and preservation. We have also expanded our board of directors to include old and new friends who have successfully managed major Wall Street firms and substantial charitable foundations. Today, our original seven people have grown to twenty. We will continue to add more people who can make meaningful contributions to our capabilities.
At Hunter Associates, our goal has always been to care for our clients and all aspects of their financial lives, helping them define and achieve their financial objectives. We continue to aspire to be the best investment management company we can possibly be, by every measure. We expect to be a company that creates real value for its clients and employees by delivering high quality financial services and solutions; employing the best people, nurturing them, and enabling them to succeed—all while remaining steadfastly committed to an ethic of honesty and service. Our success, both financial and otherwise, will be a by-product of achieving these goals. While so much has changed over the years, our enduring commitment to be a true partner and friend, providing genuine value, remains the same.
